BSOM Annual Scientific Meeting
The BSOM Annual Scientific Meeting is normally held over two days in April or May each year. The format may include invited presentations, clinical effectiveness and peer reviewed oral and poster scientific communications. The BSOM Prizes are open to the membership and recognise the best presentations in different categories. The meeting is focused on Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and CPD certificates are available for delegates. The Annual General Meeting of the BSOM is traditionally held at the end of the first day ahead of the evening Scientific Meeting Dinner. From time to time, BSOM holds joint scientific meetings with other professional groups.
This year the Annual Scientific Meeting is to be held in Dundee, Scotland for the first time since 2003. Registration for the above conference is now open via Eventbrite:
The conference venue is the Dalhousie Building at the University of Dundee, the dinner will take place at Discovery Point with drinks reception on board Discovery.
Both venues are conveniently placed for the city centre where a good range of hotels is available.
Dundee has a small airport served by direct flights from London Stansted otherwise Edinburgh is the closest airport. There is a regular tram service from this airport to Edinburgh Haymarket station for the train to Dundee. Dundee has good road and rail links with the rest of the UK. http://www.dundee.com provides general information about visiting Dundee including accommodation (Visit tab) and travel (Get to Dundee tab).
BSOM Winter Meeting
The BSOM Winter Meeting is held on a Saturday in either November or December each year. The meeting includes invited presentations plus oral communications presented by selected delegates. The BSOM Prizes are open to the membership and recognises the best presentation by an eligible presenter including an undergraduate student. The meeting is focused on Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and CPD certificates are available for delegates. An informal social event takes place after the Meeting.
